Does my insurance cover a contact lens examination?

It depends. Some plans will cover the examination in full, partial, or not at all. Please call the office and we can advise you based on your vision plan.


What is the difference between a regular eye examination and contact lens examination?

A contact lens examination is extended from the regular eye examination. The doctor will assess the eye health regarding have the contact on the eye directly. They will take the necessary measurements to provide sample trials.


When does my contact lens prescription expire?

In New York, contact lens prescriptions are valid for 1 year. (*Contact lens prescriptions refer to the prescription power and brand of contacts.)


What does my insurance cover?

Most insurances cover an eye health examination and pair of eyeglasses. However, coverage does vary so please call the office for more detailed, plan specific information.


What types of insurances do you take?

We are on a large variety of panels. Please refer to the insurance page and if you don’t see your plan listed, call the office.


If I already have my own frame, can I have new lenses put in them?

Yes. Our in-house laboratory can set lenses into a patient’s own frame.


Do you examine children?

Our optometrists examine children over the age of 7.


If I already have my prescription, can I come in to pick out glasses?

Yes. Our optician is available for appointments to help with frame selection and taking optical measurements.


When does my eyeglass prescription expire?

In New York, there is no expiration on eyeglass prescriptions, but we do recommend yearly eye health examinations.


Do you carry children’s eyeglasses?

Yes. We carry an array of eyeglasses starting from a few months old through adulthood.
